(Q): Does anyone still observe the Ten Commandments?
(A):
For many years the Ten Commandments have been used as a form of
moral teaching. As you know, the Ten Commandments were given to
Moses by God on Mt. Sinai after exiting Egypt. These Commandments
were the rules that God expected the Hebrews to follow and they
are the rules that we are to follow as well.
In this day
and age the teachings of the Ten Commandments barely exist anymore.
Many Catholics steal, commit adultery, lie, lust, are filled with
envy, worship money and material things, take the Lord's name
in vain, skip mass on Sunday and Holy days, do not honor our mother
and father, and finally, commit abortions. Do you think that God
is pleased with us? Do we not resemble the Hebrews who were delivered
from bondage in Egypt? Despite seeing the great things God did
for them, the Hebrews erected a golden calf to worship in place
of the God that delivered them. We know there is a God, but are
we numb to His commands?
